I would just go for it. Invite him out somewhere or invite him over and just sit him down and tell him "Look, I never got over you. I'm still in love with you. My life is so much better with you in it, and I want to try again to make us work." If that doesn't get him back, I'm not sure anything will.

Nothing quite as thrilling as someone who dumped you getting dumped and taking that opportunity to try to recycle them back into your life, forgetting all the reasons they were an ex, huh?
It'll be like you had no life and were waiting for the day! How attractive is that?

Hes your ex for a reason. Despite the old saying, love does NOT conquer all.
