Just figured I'd complain here. I get the flu shot every year and it's never felt like this before. The needle poke was fine. But about an hour later it feels like the schoolyard bully gave me a noogie in the shoulder! Ok flame-away. :-)

That is a common reaction. You can try some ice over the area or some over the counter pain medication.

The vaccine is different each year, so you can have different reactions each year.

If it is still real painful after a few days call your physician.

I know you are are looking for flames, and not real answers, but I figured, in case someone has a similar reaction and want answers they may find mine useful.

Have a good day.

Each batch of flu vaccine is different from year to year.
Try a cold compress or ice pack to your arm on/off and Motrin or ibuprofen 600-800 mg every 6 hours.
The pain or redness will be better in a day or 2. It is a common reaction. I am glad you got your shot/hope you feel better soon. RN in Ca.

Nope..normal reaction to a flu shot! Your body's immune system is reving up to make antibodies now so you might also get some mild fevers, chills and aches. It might feel different this year as the shot changes a bit each year. Try Tylenol.
