Go to your local animal shelter. You can usually get a great dog for under $100, who's already fixed and has some shots. Any "free" pet is going to cost you more than that to get fixed. If you can't afford the small fee from the shelter, how can you afford the routine maintenence cost?

My uncle wanted to get a dog at the shelter.But he had no luck because he doesnt live in our state(he was visiting)!On our way driving out of the shelter he saw a lady with a dog.He yelled out and asked her if she is dropping up her dog.She said yes so he asked her if he could have it. She said yes!No strings attatched.w/o paying. So maybe if you sit in front of an animal shelter, and ask people that walk by with dogs, if they are giving them up! good luck!
p.s.if this does happen, dont 4get to ask the owner about the dogs health issues!

And if you live close to Southern WI, I know where you can get one!!!! I have one! We got a puppy, but our older dog just does not like her and is getting quite cranky. Getting rid of the older dog isn't an option, so I'm afraid the puppy may have to find a good home! She's a pug/spaniel. I don't know if I would give her away for free (I pd $150 for her) but maybe for like $50!! And YES I'm serious!

your daily newspaper is always a great place to look for there is always a great deal with pets, also try any pet websites, and look into places like animal shelters and pounds. make sure you find out a lot of info about the dog and its caring needs before getting it, and also make sure you and yours kids will get along with it well, and make sure the dog wont cause you any trouble.

goto a local shelter. there u find lovable dogs of all sizes that are good with kids and extremely loyal-plus u'll be saving a life

YOU COULD LOOK IN THE LOCAL PAPER SOME PEOPLE GIVE AWAY DOGS DUE TO MOVING OR OTHER PROBLEMS AND ALL THEY WANT IS A GOOD HOME FOR THEM GOOD LUCK
