It's normal for him not to want to open up about his dad committing suicide - it takes a long time to build up that amount of trust in another person.
Try forcing him to move faster - call him on the phone, make him go on a date with you. Chances are he wants to, but is too shy to make the first move.
Eventually, if it doesn't take to long, he'll open up, and things will move quicker.
My advice: be a little pushy, if he doesn't step up at all, move on.

You are not an adult so you don't need and adult type relationship. Maybe just try talking to him in person when you see him. You don't want to break up with him just because he is not pressuring you to do things do you? You know he is shy so it sounds like you will have to be the one to start the first few face to face conversations.
Hey at least he is not a totally jerk who cheats on you or pressures you to move too fast.

First of all, a brake is a device for slowing or stopping the motion of a machine or vehicle. I think you mean break up. How can you be dating or a g/f when you have never spoken to him? What is there to break up?

i think that if he is a boy hoo takes stuff slow then he obviously has liked you a long time and alot. he probably needs someonel like you to get him out of his shell. make him be able to trust again. ppl thats loved ones commit suicide are affected because it makes them scared that if they get attatched to someone they could leave.so i say dont brake up with him

It sounds to me that he just needs a friend to hear him out. If all you are doing is e-mailing eachother and you would like more out of the friendship or relationship always be open. Ask questions to him that interest you that you would like to know, to get to know him better. I would ask to get together with him to get his mind on postive things. Its always great to have things going on when its not going so well. Good luck!

Why not just try being honest with him. Be tactful either way... "Hey, I really like you. It would mean so much to me if you would trust me enough to open up to me." Or, "I have really enjoyed being your friend, but I would like to be in a more communicative, trusting and open relationship. If you don't see this happening in our future, I feel I must really move on and start dating again. I will always be here for you, my friend..."

well..what you really shuld do is, tell him how you feel about it. then if theirs no changes then you shuld just break it up. theirs only one way to get thru all these stuff. you only get one life and only one truly love. and you cant just wait everyday and hold on to that realsntionship. i am a teen. & i'l let you knoe this, it aint serious if you guys are emailing eachother and talking with out hanging out and on the phone or doing anything. its just a kid love to him proably. if you want more. you can get at me on my aim

if your going to brake up with him, you need to make yourself not appealing to him. find out what he likes in you and start doing the opposite. if hes like most guys he'll back down as soon as you do this.
