There is now an arguement that interracial adoptions cause 'Identity" problems for the adopted child in later life because they are brought up in another culture. What do you think people ?

Who cares.
She'll give that baby everything he ever dreamed or would dream.
She shouldn't have done it the way she did - but the adoption process all over the world is far too complicated.

I do not think that it is a big deal if Madonna adopted an african boy. If I had the money I would do it too and adopt every type of child because it a great thing that she is doing.

I think since the baby's father is ok with it, everyone else needs to mind their own business, this little boy lost his mother at birth, his father is unable to care for him, he was destine to grow up in foster care, he would have most likely lived very impoverished. I say God bless him, he has a very good chance at having a very wonderful life filled with love and a two parent household with anything he wants. Every child needs love and every child needs a home, I think Madonna will ensure he is aware of his culture and where he comes from she is very socially conscience. Good deal. God bless

no longer something is faulty with it, yet i do locate it kinda extraordinary that straight away she is going to Africa and receives a touch one out of no the position. I advise at the same time as Angelina Jolie did it she replaced into doing charity paintings and then handed off to fall in love with a baby, notwithstanding the way Madonna did it type of feels kinda pretend, Africa isnt the in difficulty-free words united states with poor children.

I am glad she did. She is now considering adopting a little girl a little bit older. The media needs to lay off of Madonna and let her live her life her way.

Kids here need adopting why the hell go across the globe to pick out a youngan when we've got kids across the street whose folks don't want them. It's stupid if you ask me. Want to help them over there, send some money, donate some time, build them a house, school, or hospital, teach them to read and write. Help them yes, but don't neglect what's here first.

I think it is great to adopt no matter who you are or what culture. Giving a child a great life is the best thing. I think it is important to teach them all about their culture and give them many experiences throughout their childhood.

Look, I'm adopted, in fact I have been lucky enough to have been twice. More power to anybody who takes in a child. That is unless the are abusive psychopaths.

I don't think she should have--but not because it causes "identity problems".
They say she mentioned to her family that she only wanted to do it because it was "the Hollywood thing" (or something like that). Basically, she wanted an African baby because all the stars are doing it now i.e. Angelina Jolie and what's his face..
Luckily, she'll only have custody of him for 18 months. After 18 months, they'll decide if he stays with her or goes back to Africa.
Also note: I'm not a Madonna freak--just a CNN freak :-)
