I didn't get mine and I have never regretted it. Just think - how many people do you know that are wearing their class ring by the time they are 25. It's a lot of money for something that you are likely only going to wear for a couple of years.
But you have to decide what works for you and how much you want it just as a momento that will likely sit in a drawer.

I think you should get your class ring. It's a beautiful reminder of high school. Granted, you should probably like high school if you're going to shell out the possible $200+. But I paid $250 for mine and didn't regret it. My ring was a mix of silver and platinum and it had an amethyst stone because that's my birthstone and purple was the official color of my high school. On one side I had a mural to the arts featuring tragedy and comedy masks, music notes, and a paintbrush. On the other side, I had an Aquarius symbol because that's my astrological sign. I think if you design your ring well, you won't regret getting it, even if most people don't wear it in college.

Class rings are a little complicated. You will wear it for the rest of time you are in school, but then once you graduate you won't ever wear it again, until you are much older, possibly. Then once you have children you might bring it out once and a while to show them, etc.
It really just depends. Looking back on it, I wish I didn't buy one just because I no longer wear it.
The same exact thing goes for letter jackets. You get them in high school, then once you are in college if you wear it you look like a complete dumbass. So you just keep it in your closet until once every 10 years when you go to your class reunion.

I saved my money bought a more expensive one and now 15 years later it just sits in my jewelry box. If you really want the memento then do it. But I would suggest buying yourself another piece of jewelry or a watch that you will wear and enjoy much longer than a class ring.

I f you have the money.. yes. If not, then don't. Most rings never get worn after the senior year, as they get replaced with fraternity, sorority, college, military, or engagement rings. Consider investing in a nice gemstone set instead.

I didn't. I thought it was lame.
My friend thinks it's something special though. She has always wanted her mom's class ring, and she wishes she got hers so she could pass it on to her daughter someday.
It's really a matter of personal opinion.

I'm a Senior this year and I'm not getting one. Why? Because I think it's a waste of money and kind of stupid all around. There are plenty of other things to keep your memories alive of your high school experience (yearbook, friends, photos, etc).
