The final release of IE 7 was made available on Tuesday. I downloaded it last night but I could almost swear that words and letters don't seem as sharp. Perhaps it's my monitor or my eyes but even when I hit the auto reset button on the monitor, nothing seems to focus quite as sharply as before the download. Thanks.

When you first use Internet Explorer, a screen comes up asking for your preferences, such as: turning on the phish filter, tab browsing and using clear type fonts. Do you remember what you selected for clear type fonts? By default, it is set for clear type fonts. From the menu bar > Tools > Internet Options > "Advanced" Tab > scroll down to "Multimedia" and see if "Always Use ClearType for HTML" is checked. Turn it on or off and see which you like better.

There is a rule of thumb that I use with any new release of IE. Wait a couple of months before you download it. When a new version is released, it is always full of bugs even if it is the "final release".

The New IE7 uses Clear Type. There should be a way to disable it in Options. And ignore the Flaw that was found. It isnt as bad as the other poster says.

You would be best to uninstall it for the moment as there's a big security flaw already discovered - see here http://www.webuser.co.uk/news/98024.html
