Who are "most women"? And there is a difference between socializing and flirting. What is wrong is that, by asking your girlfriend to stop socializing with other men, you may be cutting her off from several of her friends and other acquaintances. This is extremely controlling behavior, bordering on abusive. If you can't deal with your girlfriend having casual male friends, then you don't need to date.

everything. That's like living in a boarding school all your life. And a request like that would imply that men were born to mate with women, and once you're off the market, you have no reason to talk to another man. We are social creatures and can learn a lot from people. So if we cut ourselves away from another gender, we risk losing an open-mind and thorough understanding of ourselves (Since you learn more about yourself through interactions with others)

What does socialize mean? most women will respect their boyfriends enough not to flirt with other men. If someone has to specifically make that rule, he already lost.

Everyone has the right to socialize with anyone they want. I don't know any girl who would drop all her guy friends if her boyfriend told her to. If he's that neurotic about her being unfaithful, why doesn't he strap a surveillance camera to her head?

Because it's saying you don't trust her, and you're dictating who she can be friends with. It's controlling. I'd drop a guy who said that like a hot potato.

Anyway most of my guy friends are gay, so where's the harm in hanging out with them?

Almost all of my friends are male. That would be like asking me to end every other part of my life.

You don't own the girl so it's not very polite to ask that, but you can ask her not to cheat on you, which is respectful. She has the freedom to do whatever she wants to do.
