Its not a matter of "what age"......its about being mature in mind and being comfortable enough in your own skin to be able to make wise choices and decisions concerning your body....:)

-If either person doesn't feel ready (doesn't matter if they're 13 or 30).
-if they can't bring themselves to discuss sex, STDs, or condoms without using euphemisms or giggling.
-if they're not both willing to take responsible steps to prevent STDs and pregnancy
-if they're worried about what the other kids at school will say/think

Personally, I think anything under 16 is definitely too young, and under 18 is still a little young. You got your whole life ahead of you, why rush it? I've never met anyone who wished they had had sex at a younger age, and plenty of people who regret having sex too early.

It really all depends on the person so my young and your young will be different. I lost my virginity at 15 and it was ok and now I am fine at 20 going on 21.

Depends on the person.

Sex is more than an age apporiate thing. It is very mental and you have to be ready for it physically and mentally. You have to not only know about the diseases, pregnacy, etc but know how you will react to everything that happens. Know that SEX CHANGES EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING, how you feel about that person, how you feel about yourself, the relationship, are you in a relationship, how that person feels about you, etc. Sex was designed for marriage and it makes sense. You have this person that you are committed to and now you can totally expose yourself to that person. You know they already love you because you had a relationship before the marriage and since you didn't have sex before then, sex isn't clouding your mind. Also think of it like this, every person you have sex with has given a part of themselves to you. That means you acquire a part of their spirit. If you really step back and look at the person, do you like every aspect of them, can you see yourself marrying this person or even raising a child together, are their views like your views. If not, you just added some extra baggage to yourself by sleeping with them while losing a piece of yourself. When committed to one another through marriage, you can reenforce each other and continue to be 1 whole of a unit instead of 2 broken people.

I know this may seem like a lot but sex SHOULD NOT be taken lightly. Society makes sex out to be small and simply but it is so much more than that when it is placed in its destinated spot.

I tried to hold out until marriage but I lost my virginity at the age of 23 to a drunk co- worker who cared nothing about me. It was fine when it was happening, but I was very disturbed with the aftermath. I was upset at myself because I allowed this person to persuade me as well as society to allow me to think i was too old to be a virgin and to give in to my sexual desires. Don't get me wrong, we are going to have the desires, no doubt and they get stronger when you get older. But you gotta look at the bigger picture. You are worth more than 30 minutes of pleasure. And you deserve more too! Hope this helps.

Before maturity every one is too young for the purpose.

Wait till you feel you're ready physically and mentally. Don't have anyone force you into it or force yourself. Don't make the same mistake I made. I was 14 when I lost mine and I wish that I waited until I was a bit older.

You're too young when you don't understand, and can accept, ALL possible consequences of your action.

Are you mentally, emotionally and financially able to support a child?

when you are old enough to raise a child alone, if you can't do that then you are too young to have sex.
