you usually want to brush beforehand. its kinda like priming your car before its painted. you want to remove all the impurities that may effect the finished job. it makes for better results. besides, if you don't, you'll just be whitening up the plaque on your teeth as well...

Thank you kikikicombobreaker. Jeez, WHY do people just answer whether they know the answer or not?
The reason NOT to brush, believe it or not, is so the bleach has a substrate to dissolve into to get to your teeth. If you get a kit from the dentist, the chemical flows and will make contact with the tooth. With the Crest Strips, the chemical is in little "pods" on the strip and it needs something to dissolve into to make contact with the teeth.
When you are using bleaching stuff from the dentist, YES, brush before each use.

Brush your teeth before applying the white strips. You will also want to floss too. After removing the white strips, brush the teeth again.

Before. That way it isn't just bleaching the plaque on your teeth and actually has a chance to make a difference in the enamel. I would also use mouthwash first.
Mouthwash, Brush, Whitestrips, Wipe with washcloth.

Do not brush right before you apply the strips or right after. Brush as you normally do.
The reason is that you can increase sensitivity.

I don't think you will die, because I would already be dead! I always brushed before using whitestrips and they worked fine for me! I never understood why you had to put them on dirty teeth, wouldn't that make whitening harder?? Good luck and sorry this was kind of pointless!! :)

I always do before, that way your not just whitening the plaque. I usually rinse my mouth out w/ water afterwards, just to get the taste out of my mouth. There's also a pre-wash, whitening mouth wash that listerine makes. It works fairly well, and it doesn't burn.
