She probably feels bad about being late so try to make her feel it's not upsetting you (even though it is)

Well...there's not enough information here - what's the context -how late is she and what is she late for? At least she has bothered to text. Some people don't bother. Can't you just reply 'thanks', 'looking forward to seeing you' or 'no problem'?

text back...ok no probs...when she gets home ask her why she was late and where she's been...is (she) your wife, daughter? ....was you planning something....was she meant to be home at a certain time....late for what exacly...?
