It makes me sick. This belief is the source of so much hatred, and hatred is against religions' morals. People should just me more excepting and stop imposing their beliefs on others.

Religious belief is usually based on faith. The problem with faith-based belief is that it doesn't allow for humility. It can't be disproved because the belief isn't based on proof in the first place. So when differences of opinion arise, the only way to keep faith in your belief system is to deny the faith of others as invalid. Faith based beliefs do not allow for reconciliation with different views because their is no criteria for proof other than the strength of belief. Since when did believing something to be true because you believe it to be true make sense? That's why I'm not religious.

The same thing applies to Hamburgers, Pizza and cleaning products.
Every one of them is World Famous, #1, New and Improved.
Why aren't there any old and unimproved products!
Why isn't there a #2 hamburger in the world!
A friend of mine was pitching a movie project on the man who flew after Lindburg. The second man to fly the Atlantic.
No one wanted to make that movie, who cares about #2!

When you do something don't you believe you are doing it right even though your dad, mom and friends and others argue with you that what you are doing is wrong and the outcome will be very negative? You just do it coz you dont care what they see. You do care to do what you See is right.
No one can impose their faith on you. We live in a free world. They are free to preach and you are free to flush their preachings.

Did you ever hear of a religion that said, "Actually those other guys over there have the answer and we are just pathetic wannabe's"
No they are selling a product and the product is as marketable as soap so they have to promote it...our brand makes you cleaner than other religions, gets your soul whiter than white...etc!

Because too many people can only see things from their own perspective, and as a result, it's simply a one sided issue to them! I Myself am a Unitaian Universalist, because We believe that all religions are equally valid!

Validation. If you believe there is only one "right" way to be, believe or live, and others who don't believe what you believe are good people leading good lives with integrity, then acknowledging them is threatening. You have to try to convert them to validate your beliefs.

If it's not the only right one, what reason do people have to obey its tenets and give it money? Money and social control... you have to be right for people to give you power over them.
Also since so much has to be taken on faith, even if it doesn't make sense, the pronouncement has to be so strong as to be the best in the world. Otherwise people might question, and might leave.

Because many of the beliefs are based upon an exclusionary principle: if you follow us, you get "Heaven", and if you don't, you get "Hell"... If "believers" didn't believe they had the right belief, it would nullify the basis for the religion. And if they allowed others to "think" for themselves, there would be no inducement to be in the religion...
