For the Army the weight requirement depends on your age. For example, I am a 20 year old female Military Police officer. I'm 5'8" tall, and Army Regulation 600-9 (Weight Control Program) says that I need to weigh no more than 164 pounds. If you fail your weight, they take measurements of certain parts of your body to determine how much body fat you have, in percentage. Again, the standard depends on your age. I know that recruits are now allowed to enter the Army overweight, but have a set amount of time-I believe it's a year-to meet the specified requirements for their height and age. For more specific information, see your local recruiter. Blessed be!

It depends upon your age and body type. I know some really short military people. Regardless of how tall you are, your weight has to be in proportion to your height. If you are over by a little, they will measure your neck, if you have a thick neck they will allow you to weigh a bit more because your body is more muscular. My husband is 5'7" tall and can't weigh over 174 pounds, he's 38 now, if he were younger the weight limit would be even less. As you get older and stay in the military, they let you weigh a little bit more, for example, when my husband reaches 39, he can weigh 176. They also won't accept you if you are underweight. The recruiter will weigh you in, and will give you tips on how to gain or lose weight. Once you make the weight, then you can swear in.

I don't know what all of you are talking about there wasn't any weight or height requirements ever to enlist in the military. The only requirement that i know about for height is in the Navy and it is for Sub duty.

As long as you are in good shape there is a waiver for height and weight requirements. I know someone that is 5' and 100 pounds they got a waiver. I also know someone tha weighs 245 pounds got a waiver. Someone scored a 34 on the ASVAB got a waiver. See what I mean, no matter what you'll probably be able to get a waiver.
