I have a brand new set of 6"9 speakers and a perfectly working cd player. When i play a song with music faded in the centre there seems to be no bass whatsoever no matter how much i adjust it. however when music is faded either entirely to the left or right the bass is very good but of course one speaker is off. anyone had the same problem????

Presuming you have not used an amp, there is a good chance you have got the wires mixed up! Best way to test this is to either play a blank tape or tune the radio in to static whilst driving. If you can hear a whining through the speakers that increases/decreases with your revs then you have definitely got the positive and negative wires the wrong way around.

6x9s arent meant for low bass. they're mid selection audio device. Bass comes from sub woofers that are fixed in a container. The sub woofers creates air rigidity interior the container that creates the bass. in the experience that your fixed the 6x9s in a 6x9 container you will get fairly of bass in spite of the indisputable fact that this is going to in no potential get your massive annoying bass

I ran 300w 6x9's straight from a 95 corsa factory stereo, and they sounded fantastic.
