Acknowledging you have a problem is the first step in treating it.
You are not going to get support from your family, so you need to learn how to stand on your own. Your daughters are confused and at an when white looks black and black looks white. They will continue to be confused while you remain depressed. You need help. When they see you gaining control of you life, they will be better able to control their own. For your sake and their's, get help. Depression is a physcial problem, chemical imbalance is often involved. With your brittle diabetes, you body has enough trouble trying to control itsself. It may very well be a part of your depression.
You can not change the people around you, but you can change you. Time to get started. Thank you for sharing this with us.

It is very possible that you are depressed. You need to see a doctor so her an advise you what to do. He may prescribe you some antidepressants. You should start seeing a therapist.
Some signs of depression include:
Persistent sad, anxious or "empty" mood
Changes in sleep patterns
Reduced appetite and weight loss, or increased appetite and weight gain
Loss of pleasure and interest in once-enjoyable activities, including sex
Restlessness, irritability
Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as chronic pain or digestive disorders
Difficulty concentrating at work or at school, or difficulty remembering things or making decisions
Fatigue or loss of energy
Feeling guilty, hopeless or worthless
Thoughts of suicide or death

Necropolis has some good info.
I would also add that you need to make a life for yourself, get rid of all the problems, guilt and self pity that is harmful to you.
Look FORWARD, forget about the past. Many things that have happened to you are just "things in life". Like your mother passing on. It happens to EVERYBODY...nobody is exempt but life "MUST" go on. Accept them, grieve, get over them but keep the wondeful memories.
You need a BIG change in your life. Begin seeking it!!!! Get help if you need to!! Good luck. Pops

People with Diabetes get depressed easily. But, it sounds like you have reason to be sad. Get some counseling and make your daughters go to. Diabetes needs to be treated as FAMILY problem...because it affects the WHOLE FAMILY. Diabetes think differently and your daughters need to know things to cope and deal.

I would forget about that slob of a exhusband and get some medical help. You need to quit worrying about what he is doing and concentrate on you and your 2 children. You are not going to feel better until you do. My father always told me that in this world you need to look out for number one and then if anyone gives you any crap about it give them number two.
