George Bush was head of the CIA and they were all working for the oil companies and Iran didn't like it so the CIA sent false information to Iraq and thus began the Iran/Iraq war. When that failed to finish Iran off the US set up Saddam to crush any opposition, which is why he gassed the Kurds. The US was involved in some wars and now we arrive at Saddam having WMD's and being on trial. The Bushes are still good friends of Saddam's and I'm quite sure Saddam will finish out his days with power and money. What do you think?

I don't disagree with anything you wrote. The problem with trying to get at all the possible motives for the war in, or more accurately, occupation of Iraq is that there are so many possibilities. About the only thing I think we can be sure of is that it has absolutely nothing to do with anything Bush has said publicly. It could be, as you say, a money making scam. It could be a tasty hint of the Apocalypse for the evangelicals. Perhaps it's just a way to subdue the American citizens and keep us afraid, docile, and less likely to question authority as our rights and liberties are slowly stripped from us. It could be all of these and more. I wonder if we'll ever know.
