Isn't it supposed to be after *every* time you eat? Is there a limit you need to wait before brushing?

In the morning, after each meal, and at night before bed. There is no time limit.

I've always been told to brush at least twice a day (morning and night) if you can't do it after every meal. Definitely before bed as the crud that accumulates can work on your teeth and begin the decaying process quickly overnight. I had $9,000 worth of surgery (gum) because of negleted care. I brushed my teeth twice a day but didn't go to a Dentist in over 5 years even though I had dental insurance. Just lazy and a procrastinator. Thankfully I caught the damage in due time, but I have to be very careful for the rest of my life if I want to keep my own teeth. There's so many cool items on the market to help keep your teeth clean between meals, like single use floss thingies, and mouthwashes that kill germs and help keep plaque down. Electric toothbrushes are great too and really do a good job.

The standard way of thinking is brush and floss twice a day. If you happen to eat or drink something acidic like cola or tomato juice it's best to rinse your mouth first and wait a while before brushing because the acid can make your teeth slightly softer. Brushing right afterwards can cause damage over time.

Hello! I have SEVERAL very good friends who are Dentists and THEY ALL tell me to brush my teeth IMMEDIATELY after EVERY MEAL. So, I take my toothbrush (I have several, one at work, one in the car, a couple in the bathroom at home) wherever I go (and a small tube of toothpaste). It does NOT HURT to brush your teeth. And FLOSSING is recommended ONCE a day!!!

Oh, and BE SURE to use ONLY SOFT BRUSH bristles...Medium or Hard will wear away your gums too much.
Hope that helps! Happy brushing and healthy teeth for LIFE!

3 times a day for 2 minutes each. After Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Not "*every* time"

I would say atleast 3 times a day. And my dentist has told me that it is bad to brush your teeth too much. Its not bad for your teeth, but it is bad for your gums. Can cause gingivitus. And make sure you brush your tongue! There is alot of bacteria that grows there!

i think twice a day is fine.. it's just a personal preference if you want to brush after every meal..

well after every meal would be a little much if you take in to account you dont always eat at home and carry a toothbrush w/ you ,but i think in the morning and at night suffices and if need be just carry a sample bottle of mouthwash in your purse ,being a female and for males i would reccomend keeping it in their vehicle
