Witches have the knowledge and skill to direct energies to help them achieve their goals. This is different than possessing the energies but not so different than what another religious person does when they pray.

but to us spellwork is more like focused prayer, and attuneing your mind to work in a way that will make your goals easier to accomplish.
you cannot believe the crap that hollywood fills the airwaves with.
most of our power is over our own lives.
