Write a gratitude list and add to it everyday and read it EVERY morning. Eat a healthy breakfast, go buy a small treat (bar of chocholate, something small) and say goodmorning to at least 3 people whilst you're out, don't worry if they ignore you (you're not doing it for them). Read an inspirational book. DO NOT WATCH THE NEWS it's totally pointless (knowing who's done what to who and when will only depress you further). Exercise, streach, put on some music and if you are in a position to do so dance. TALK to the people you owe money to, DO NOT HIDE THE BILLS FROM YOURSELF/THROW THEM IN THE BIN OR POSPONE OPENING THEM, people are understanding and payment plans can be arranged. Continue to seek employment and do not be upset if nothing comes your way, the act of trying in the main thing. If you are single FORGET about women for a while concentrate on getting well first. Look for unpaid/voluntery work, get involved with people who are worse off than you and try to improve their lives a little, and so on and so on.......Best of luck to you mate. P.S 4 years ago I was homeless, helpless and hopeless, today I'm good

Stressed or depressed? Depression is long term, and last for months, and sometimes years. Depression is totally different from depression.

It is quite possible that you're just not a morning person.

Here are some of the many signs of depression:

Persistent sad, anxious or "empty" mood
Changes in sleep patterns
Reduced appetite and weight loss, or increased appetite and weight gain
Loss of pleasure and interest in once-enjoyable activities, including sex
Restlessness, irritability
Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as chronic pain or digestive disorders
Difficulty concentrating at work or at school, or difficulty remembering things or making decisions
Fatigue or loss of energy
Feeling guilty, hopeless or worthless
Thoughts of suicide or death

If you are having four or more of these problems, PLEASE go to your doctor. He may prescribe some antidepressants for you, and can refer you to a therapist.

Another common sign of depression is waking up feeling depressed and hopeless. Being out of work can also cause depression. It seems to me by reading your question that it is very likely that you may be depressed. You show many symptoms.

Have you ever sat down and figured out why you feel so gloomy in the morning?

Your life situation has definately left you depressed. The fact that you have nothing to do all day probably does not help. Plan your day the day before. Do a little job searching and find some time to go out and smell the flowers, breathe in the fresh air. Spend some time with friends even if its just going out for a coffee. If all this does not help, seek the help of a doctor. Don't wait till it gets worse !

if you have insurance, you need to go talk to your doctor right away. You probably are experiencing (situational) depression and could use some medication to stabilize you till your life turns around again.
This is very serious condition. Please don't hesitate to make the call right away
