Isaiah 7:14 was written 700 BC

Immanuel is the Hebrew for "God with us"

They didn't call Him Immanuel back in the day, but now it is commonly used in reference to Jesus, so is that a fullfilment of prophecy?

If you don't think it refers to Jesus, do you have another candidate that fits the bill?

That's exactly who it is. The disciples asked Jesus if they could see the Father, and Jesus replied, If you have seen me, then you have seen the Father. That is God with us. Isaiah 7:14 says the virgin with be with child, and shall give birth to a son. The virgin is Mary. Isn't prophecy amazing?

Yes there are many names for Jesus. And there are MANY scriptures in the Old Testament that fortell of his coming...

Here is one name too:

Isaiah 11:1
[ The Branch From Jesse ] A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.

Isaiah 11:10
In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious.

Romans 15:12
And again, Isaiah says, "The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will hope in him."

Matthew 1:23
"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" —which means, "God with us."

Revelation 1:8
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

There are other references in the Old Testament- and of course some of these are in the New Testament. In the Old Testament he is also known as the "Savior" and Melchizadek the High Priest-(I dont know if I spelled that name right, hehe) But He is known as our one High Priest- for we are saved by Him and we confess our sins TO HIM, we no longer need a priest to confess sins...)

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

Hebrews 8:6
But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.

Hebrews 9:15
For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

Isaiah 7:14 is not a future messianic prophecy at all. It was a promise by Isaiah to king Ahaz that he would be successful in defeating the two enemy nations. The purpose of 7:14 is to claim that the child being born would grow up in peace. All you have to do is read a few passages around it to see the context.

Isaiah was referring to the Messiah. BUT, the Jewish Messiah he was referring to was not Jesus. G-d is One.

Our Messiah will not be G-d, or a holy being. He will be a man-a human man-who can lead and full fill the prophecy.

Some believe this to mean it will be a Messianic age on earth, when people have learned to live together in peace and harmony.

Jesus is Immanuel - just one of His many names

It was Jesus, and He fulfiled every one of the prophecies about the Messiah. Every one. To do this on purpose, or by chance would be impossible.

Matthew 1:23
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
