invite her to dinner and write it on a cake or something.

I was the maid of honor in my brother's wedding. The way that my now sister-in-law asked me was "I know that you and your brother are close and I hope that one day we will be that close. I love you like a sis already and I would be honored if you would stand next to me when we say our vows. Will you be my maid of honor?" I was happy!
I'm sure that the way you choose to ask her will be fine. She will just feel honored by being asked!!
GOOD LUCK and Congrats!!

Get an agenda or calender and a book on maid of Honor duties. Make a Photo puzzle of them. Get together and have a puzzle night! Put a message on it like:
We need you to help put us together.
Complete our puzzle of a beginning.
Help to piece our new life together.
Then give her the real things as a gift.

Take her somewhere that is special to the two of you or to you and your fiance. "Propose" to her with some flowers and maybe a little trinket of some kind to show your intentions. An inexpensive but classy necklace that she could wear at your wedding might work. Use your imagination and congratulations on getting married!

Make her as happy as he made you when he asked the big question. Take her out for dinner with your fiance as well, and propose!!! Get a ring with her birthstone, or another piece of jewellery of some significance, get down on one knee, and pop the big question!! Make sure you tell her how honoured you'd be if she would stand up for you at the wedding!! :)

I can't add any better suggestions to the others, but You sound like an awesome bride and if you get along this well with your future sister in law, this should be a very happy family!

Since it's almost Halloween, give her one of those plastic pumpkin buckets filled with her favorite candy. Tie one end of a ribbon to the handle and the other to a note tucked in amongst the candy. Put her picture on the note, and inside write, "You're the sweetest thing in my life! Will you "dress up" as my maid of honor? Love, (Your Name)"
It's cheesy, but she'll appreciate all the effort and thought you put into it. =)

well if you have a good relationship with this person then why not just ask her in person??? i'm sure that even if you didn't have a good relationship with her it would still be an honor to her since it is your fiance's sister. sooo hope you like my advice, i honestly don't think that she would reject such a beautiful proposal

My aunt and uncle surprised me at Christmas time. When I opened the present they gave me, I found a gorgeous purple gown. I asked them what it was for and they said that I was going to be a bridesmaid. So, I suggest that if you know the person will say yes, you can give them a personalized gift or something related to bridesmaids to make them understand that you want them in your wedding.

Just ask? you're trying to make this too fancy. Remember the marriage is the stuff after the wedding.
