Im too shy to speak to most women, it has a lot do do with lack of self esteem. Could this be the problem with your b/f. If this is the problem try to build him up and let him know how special he is.

Tell him that you would like him to talk more without you having to start a conversation. Ask him stuff and let him talk and express himself, even if he's shy you should try to stop being the only one who talks, sometimes when us GFs talk too much they feel intimidated and can't keep up with us. If after trying this and giving him the chance he's not talking or doing stuff by himself, think about this relationship and evaluate if you want to be with someone who's like that. I had a "shy" BF and I realized this affected our relationship in many more ways than just talking. Hope this helps!

Some guys are not good with conversation. However, he should be making an effort. If you mean you have to start with the intimacy, then I'd suggest something is not quite right.
I would suggest just asking him how he feels about you and you should be honest with him too.

Maybe he just isn't good at talking. It will get tiring after a while though if it's always you having to start the conversation. You'll end up having to ask him what his issue is.

Is he shy?? In the first place guys don't like to talk but if he's just not talking to you then that's weird. Talk to him and tell him how you feel.. Then from there decide if you want to keep carrying a relationship with someone that doesn't put any effort into your relationship..

I would talk to him about your concerns.
I had a boyfriend like that and i eventually ended it because to have a rel it has to be worked both ways.
You can not do all of the work in this rel he has to do his share too
good luck
