Hi , i got a new puppy : ) i was soo happy, because i wanted one for so long. She was so cute a fluffy, and still is adorable. When she was 5 months she got out of the house and got hit by a car right infront of me. I was sooo sad, and scared i thought she was dead !! We took her to the vets and she was in there for a couple days they said she damages some nerves. And she would never get the feeling back in her leg. It would have to be amputated. She is almost a year old now but we still havn't got it amputated but the legaments like shrunk so its not dragging anymore. When she was hit by a car she went rolling down the road. The vet said she didn't have brain damage but shes agressive now. Shes snapped twice at my babysister she one year old. And my mom said if she bites her. My dogs gone : ( I really dont want my dog to go what should i do? Is there anything i can do? Thankz

A baby should never be allowed around a dog nsupervised.
If this dog is going out of it's way to bite at your sister you need to wither never have the dog where the baby can get at it or the dog needs to be placed in another home or destroyed if it is really aggressive and biting people.
If you can not afford to have the proper vet care done for the dog you should look at finding it a home with someone who can.
Do you know that the leg that is withered up is not painful for this dog. Is it causing any other health problems for the dog?
She could have some type of brain damage or depending on breed she may just be getting her adult personality now.
About the time they fully sexually mature they will develope their adult personailtys and that may be different than the happy puppy she was before being hit by a car.

If you went through the trama of getting hit by a car and being stuck in the hospital with all sorts of strange people and animals I think you would be a little testy too. You need to have her leg amputated if that is what the vet said you need to do. It could be causing her pain and you don't know it. If you can not afford to care for an animal then you should not have one. Also animals don't attack for no reason there must be somthing bothering her (like her leg) that is causing her to snap. Is you little sister touching her hurt leg? Keep her away from your dog untill she is a lot older and knows how to handle an animal gently. If you can't take care of the dog like the vet said you need to give it up, Sorry but it is the truth.

The aggression could be from the pain she's in with her leg. But it could also be that she's been playing on the attention you have been giving her. She's thinking she can get away with misbehaving because everyone is feeling sorry for her and babying her. Babies and bitey dogs don't go well together. If you don't get her to stop the snapping ie 'thats BAD no biting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' in a firm voice, then she will have to go. Get the snapping stopped and NEVER leave your baby sister alone or unsupervised with the dog. Too many accidents happen when dogs are left alone with babies. How would you feel about your dog wearing a muzzle just when the little one is around? You could try it, but theres every chance it may not work, it could just stress the dog even more.

Ask your vet for further suggestions. If you feel they are unhelpful get a second opinion and go to another vet.

I am sorry about your dog. She still might be concerned about her leg. Obviously she cant use it anymore and she doesn't really know what's going on. She cant understand the vet. My recommendations are:
let her by your sis and other younger kids (with supervision only) and let her smell them and know them first. dont let them touch her until she is ready. If you introduce her to dogs (equal or smaller in size) to her she might feel better too. I wouldn't put her down or get rid of her unless you feel she is a danger. She needs your love and obviously you need her! :)

Whatever you decide, I hope she and everyone involved is okay. Good Luck!

First off I'm sorry about your dog, that's very sad. I'd recommend putting her down for therapeutic reasons. I had a cat who (literally) went insane and was a danger to herself, so that's what we did. It's hard to do, but probably safer in the end, both for your dog and people around her.

I'm so sorry if you are old enough get a job asap if you already have a job see if you can work over time sorry if you already are! and that's so sad I'm sorry!! well you're lucky she isn't dead though right? you should still be thankful that she isn't dead! trust me if you are that attached to her then you would be so sad! like my dog died and i cried and i was so sad! my dad never cries except when she died! he didn't cry when my cat died but when my dog Scarlett died! you're so lucky that she didn't die! just be thankful of that!
