This is a strange observation but... I am white and have noticed, at work, in retail and customer service, that the one clean cut African- American guy that works with me gets treated like **** by other African-Americans. The same customer would not talk to me that way... Why is this?? I have never seen anything like it. It happens on a daily basis...

The best analogy I can give you is that of lobsters in a tank. If you put only one lobster in a lidless tank, it will escape. If you put two or more lobsters in the tank together, none will escape. When a lobster tries to escape, the others will pull him back down into the tank.

there is such a thing. For example black people always say they stick up for each other and they are brothers but most upper class blacks with education and money don't want to be around lower class blacks. The best example is Jesse Jackson. He says he is for the poor blacks but notice when he had an affair with a woman and a child from the affair (a few years back) the woman was educated, not the average welfare ghetto mother with lots of kids.

I see that all the time with Latinos too, there are so many reasons; 1. Jealousy; they think they should be there 2. Disrespect: they probably think he wont say anything so he wont lose his job. 3. Low esteem issues; ever noticed when someone does not like themselves they tend to take it out on someone else

It certainly isn't racism just because he's African-American, most likely they just dont like the poor guy, just because someone is a minority doesn't mean that when someone treats him poorly that they are being racist, for gods sake You people need to have a vocabulary lesson.

I don't know why it happens to your co-worker, but my godfather is Chinese and my whole life he has nothing good to say about Chinese people -- according to him they're really bad drivers (have to agree with him on that, and he's a terrible driver too but he doesn't see it), he says they're lazy, they make no effort to speak English, and on and on. But he seems to forget he immigrated from China and his English isn't that great. Lol!!
