You mean real joy.
Happiness is based on the situation. It's a conditional emotional state.
Joy is inspite of the situation. It's an unconditional emotional state. You can have joy through any trial or stress. Joy keeps you moving and keeps you faithful to Jesus.

happines is a come and go thing, but joy will stay with you. The joy of the Lord comes from the peace that you receive from God when you know you are saved, that you are loved, and your future is secure. Joy is like remembering the first day you kept your grandbaby and he didn't want to go home with his parents when they came for him. That feeling stays with you. It is contentment, it's going to bed at night and knowing if you don't wake up, everything is going to be okay. Joy is indescribable, but it lifts you and carries you past hard times and sadness. Sadness is temporary just like happiness. Look for joy, and happiness will come.

It varies from person to person so it really is subjective. But to me real happiness is being able to spend time with my family and playing with my children.

The knowledge that we spent our time on something worthwhile and that, after we are gone, we may have left something worthwhile behind.
That is my definition of happiness on the Eartly plane.
A more important definition of bliss on the Soul plane is given in "Rational Spirituality" on the Dhaxem website.
