Look up the meaning of Elan Vital. It's difficult to explain but I'll try. Everyone has a drive in life/survival factor but in different degrees.
When you are laughing your head off, and the guy next to you looks as stern as a sergeant-major, its because your Elan Vital is higher than his.
If you had to measure it-imagine your Elan Vital is, say 8 out of 10 and his is 2 out of 10, you will naturally find things way funnier than him, simply because you love life more. You have a passion, you have a drive, you have a meaning for being alive. Thats your Elan Vital.

Humour is universal, we just laugh at different things.
The English like to take the p*ss out of everybody, but think it's quite funny when people do it to them. (Dutch joke - What does it say at the top of an English ladder? Stop!) Some cultures don't think that type of humour is very funny. Substitute American for English in the joke and you'd cause offence.

how long until someone writes a serious answer to this one, you know, defining humor, researching the world population, surveying a small test group, using that percentage to compare with the world population, getting an exact amount of how many people have a sense of humor in the world and changing that into the exact percentage of the world has a sense of humor. Anyways I'd say 87.328%

In a recent study in the journal of useless data, it was reported that 89.35% of the world, does in fact have a sense of humour.

dog jumped up a little to try to see the cheese on the counter and cut a big fart in the process!
