Is it my imagination or do we get hurt everytime we follow our heart?
Not sure if my genitals are attached to my heart? I'm seriously thinking about not listening to my heart and following my brain this time around. Does this make sense?

Heck, yes, follow your brain. Love isn't enough. Respect and admiration require knowledge of the other person, and these are things that get you through hard times in life. Besides, no one stays madly in love forever. Romantic? Perhaps. But not that "I've gotta talk to him every five minutes" type of love you might have at first.

But DO have love, too!!! Just figure it'll take time to really know the other person.

oh i know exactly where u are coming from i stopped following my heart a long time ago but just fair warning it can make for a real lonely and miserable existence but then again you dont have to suffer the emotional pain of heartache that makes us all human i dont recommend leaving all decisions out when it comes to the heart cause sometimes the heart can be correct i closed mine off a long time ago and i aint been happy since so make sure that is what u want but otherwise use your head and heart together and be wise about things that is the path that i should have taken but now i am 27 and totally screwed

I followed my heart once. I'm gonna use my head for a while. After a couple years I might use my brain.

Always follow your brain first - then guide your heart from there...I completely understand what you are talking about.

You can steer your heart into falling in love with the right kind of person.

It makes perfect sense. But if you close off your heart to prevent pain, you also close it off to joy.
