If we colonize a planet, it would be the same as when we colonized America. There would be no immigration laws. Everyone would be able to come to the planet legally until we established rules about it. Now if there are aliens already on the planet, we might not be able to take over the planet like we did America. They are supposed to be more advanced than us so we would be in for a hell of a fight.

One thing that's been pointed out is that singling out Mexico exclusively on the illegal immigration issue is, if nothing else, poor form. Illegal aliens in the US come from all over the world, mainly Mexico, but not exclusively.

To be even-handed about matters, it's important to remember the other 199 countries or so, as well.

If we went to colonize another planet wouldn't everyone on the spaceship be an illegal alien?
