I just got me a beautiful dress in a size 5 instead of a 7. I'm not huge i just carry some extra weight on my middle so I know i have to loose it, and if i want to wear that dress and look good in it I will.
What do you guys use?

I use how my guy reacts when he see's me naked. I love his responses.

Try to work on toning...instead of actual weight loss. You can loose two dress sizes just by toning.

I put my bike up on a free cycle stand in my living room and I bike while watching my favorite movies or playing xbox..Next thing I know..an hour has gone by.

Bribes ? I get myself another doughnut. Size 7 of course it is n;t huge 3/4 of the country would gladly trade with you. After you fit in the 5 you will want to buy a 3

You have to ask yourself WHY you want to lose the weight ?

IF you think that you "have to" or you "need to" chances are you won't or ... you will but it won't be permanant and it will be a constant battle . No one likes to do things that they HAVE TO do but we will always find a way to do/have/be what we WANT TO ..

It is fabulous to self reward yourself when you accomplish a goal and I highly encourage it but I have found that my most successful clients in the weight loss game are the ones who have a strong WHY.
It's easy to do stick with your food and exercise when it's new and exciting!! Then come the plateaus, challenges, lapses and set backs. You find your self losing motivation as the reasons you first began your program fade from your memory. That's the purpose of this little "mental exercise", that I designed for our clients to keep their "why's" fresh in the forefront of their minds on a daily basis as you learn to develop the healthy habits that will have you living in the body of your dreams.

If your "why's are strong enough, you will always find the "how"!!!

Here is an exercise that I use with our clients to get and keep them motvated. You might want to print these out, answer them and refer to it each morning so that you will WANT TO do what you need to do to get and keep yourself in a size 5 !!

What are the benefits that you anticipate with the achievement of your fitness goals?



What activities will you really enjoy participating in?



What Types of clothes will be wearing?



How Will you look and feel?



Where will you feel more comfortable/confident?



What are you looking forward to most?



How will living with your new, healthy, trim energetic body make you feel about yourself?

i agree with ''willpower, nothing less ^'' bribes are useless b/c it reinforces the belief that you, deep down, don't want to workout. it's been said that if you repeat a lie enough times, you'll start to believe it. would it be that bad if you <3ed working out? wouldn't you love to be infatuated with working out? now start acting like you love it. the right actions bring about the right feelings, not the other way around.

motivate yourself by picturing yourself in that dress and see how you look when you loose those extra pounds. also find some friend to work help keep you going. eats healthy and do alot of cardio

I actually downloaded pics of women i admire & do a slide show while i work out. Seeing Demi's bod, well, need i say more?

I visualize my next expedition (Denali in the Spring) and the image of the summit keeps me moving.

Bribes - I do give myeslf rewards but I put notes on my refrigerator, my desk, my car, etc constant reminders...

Will power is the only way to go, you have to foce yourself, bribes to yourself are useless.

i look at overwieght people who dont care or seem to mind about their shape motivates me not to end up like them
