For the police chief, it's 30 minutes. For the other officers, it's only a couple of minutes. For EMS, about 8 minutes. Ambulance (depending on where one is), five to fifteen minutes.
Fire Dept. is volunteer, so it's several minutes.

I am a police officer, but I can attest that the size of your town matters along with traffic and the number of officers on. It could be minutes to several minutes to drive across town.
In the county it could take up to 45 minutes in some places if not more just depending on where teh officer is.
picture driving across the entire town or county to get to a call.
I have worked for some towns and counties in Texas where there are officers on call and not acually working at certian times in teh day or night. this is not uncommon. So they have to get dressed and leave thier house too.

We are in serious rural. We don't have 911. so the response time would be never. If you don't have a car, you usually have a friend that can come get you and drive you to the dr. The closest hospital is 50 miles away.

For my self it is real good becaus my husband is an E. M. T. so that makes alot easyer for me.
