It is in our genetic makeup. Look back in time. Males were the hunters. Women the nurturer and gatherer. Men had to provide. Women were the ones who made the home and raised the kids. Don't sound too diff from today, except we all have done both at diff times in our life.
If you really wanted the girl you would have done something to let her know. She would mean that much to you, that you'd risk rejection for her (provider). In her mind you would be worthy (provider)of her and her respect.
Look at the playas out there. With all the sweets around who needs to choose? And if all the girls are chasing you, who else are they chasing? Those that wait are waiting for respect and are worthy(mostly) of your respect.

This is a society where men and women are seen as playing roles in the relationships with the male role being the dominant role. Many women feel that the man should always make the first move. The man that I am with currently didn't make the first move and was told by his mother than women should and he had the same problem when it came down to relationships. I feel that if you like the person and want the individual to show an interest in you then you should approach them. It doesn't matter if the woman or the man makes the first move. All you can do is say that you tried your best and see what happens in the relationship. I have never waited for man to make the move, if I am really into him I will make the first move.

A lot of girls don't have the confidence to make the first move, so they leave it up to the guy. There are also the women that like to play hard to get. I think both of those things are silly. If you're interested you should try and see what happens. If it turns out bad, oh well you get to move on and atleast you know you tried.

actually not all girls wait for the guy to make the move because i know for a fact that i don't like to be in an old fashion relationship. And after asking my freinds why they wait for the guy to make the first move is because they are so wrapped into the whole magic movie moment or being in an old fashion relationship. it just depends on the girl and what she wants.

Because that is how women are raised. We are taught to let the man make the first move, let the man take the lead, etc. Most of us have figured out by now that we don't have to do that and will make the first moves ourselves. Done it a few times myself. She probably just got scared and was waiting for you to give her the go ahead.

well it is mostly because some guys think girls are being too pushy or in some cases too cheap when they make the first move that is why most girls would rather prefer to wait for the guy to make the first move and keep their self respect

Because for more that we like the guy we do not want to seem desprate so we wait for the guy to make the move we do not want him to think we are easy all over every single guy we like and we want to be sure he is also intrestead we do not want to feel dumb if we make the first move and he says I just want to be friends never happen to me but, I seen it happen

Because a bee goes to the honey....the honey doesn't go to the bee!!!!! If a girl makes the first move she is considered cheap or a slut so she has to be careful and wait for the guy to make the first move.

I let a guy know how I felt about him he pretty much laughed in my face then went off and told all of our mutual friends and they had a good laugh. After that I was so mortified that I figure if a guy wants to tell me his affections for me that is great, but I refuse to ever put myself through that situation again.

because the girl is shy and she dident want you to know the she has a crush on you so she wanted to wait until you said something or maybe because girls are more afraid of rejection
