Yes.
If you're diagnosed with periodontal disease, your periodontist may recommend periodontal surgery. Periodontal surgery is necessary when your periodontist determines that the tissue around your teeth is unhealthy and cannot be repaired with non-surgical treatment. Following are the four types of surgical treatments most commonly prescribed:
Pocket Reduction Procedures - A pocket reduction procedure has been recommended because you have pockets that are too deep to clean with daily at-home oral hygiene and a professional care routine.
During this procedure, your periodontist folds back the gum tissue and removes the disease-causing bacteria before securing the tissue into place. In some cases, irregular surfaces of the damaged bone are smoothed to limit areas where disease-causing bacteria can hide. This allows the gum tissue to better reattach to healthy bone.
This is something that can be done once every two years (depending on what your dental insurance plan covers). I've had this done. It is expensive, but worth it.
Others include: Regenerative Procedures, Crown Lengthening,
Soft Tissue Grafts
A friend of mine had surgery on her gums where the dentist made an incision and pushed the gums back. This was costly and very painful after the numbing effect wore off. But she said it saved her teeth and was worth it.
Talk with your dentist and see which solution would work best for you and your budget.

I guess I would have to say yes! And, as it turns out, searching the internet I was able to find this product that is working well for me.
I am working on my mouth probs with a product that is certainly working. 2 loose teeth, now almost all the way back to tight, bleeding gums, stopped; deep pockets went from 9's to 2's and I have used this product for 2.5 months. Also had pretty bad gum infection, causing the loose teeth, and that is now gone. And I got rid of that infection without antibiotics! Read about the mouth problems that can be fixed with this product which, by the way, has a totally awesome money back guarantee. http://www.oramd.com?kbid=2141

Yes, it can be cured. I had it and went to a specialist. I had surgery and they deep cleaned my teeth. I go every four months to the Dr. to keep up with my teeth, so it does not happen again.
