Where was one of the first places you went to when you started dating? Did you go to a restaurant on your very first date? Perhaps that would be fun...reminisicing about where you went on that very first date for your 4th anniversary. Aside from that, consider making him a romantic home cooked meal...taking the time and energy to do something special for someone is worth so much more than just buying it...(ie. restaurant meal, gift, store bough card, etc.)

I'd try and find out why he chose not to get you anything. Did he usually get stuff for you in the past?? also is he going through any sort of stressful or perhaps even financially stressful time?? If not, I'd ask him directly. If you have a good solid relationship he'll answer you. I may be he's soo stuck on an issue at work, home, etc that he merely forgot. If his answer is kinda weak tell him so and see what he says. If you still don't like the answer then maybe review your relationship with him and proceed accordingly. Best of Luck

Do something really wild and surprise him totally. Get a nice dinner at a good steak place, then go to a couples strip establishment. Not a dive joint, a classy place where the girls a beautiful and the atmosphere is sexy and hot. After about an hour in there take him to a motel you've booked for the night. Then it's your turn to entertain! He'll never forget it. zigzag

Your boyfriend should be taking you to dinner. Take it from a happily married man who never misses an anniversary.

I'm into Tapas lately.

They serve small, appetizer-size dishes only. You order several and share. it's fun and different and you get to share stuff and try new things.
