The previous creative era was for plant life in abundance, (more abundance than you can imagine)...That era possibly lasted for hundreds of thousands of years or more....in order to prepare the earth for man and domestic animals, (and possibly to provide future fossil fuel)...Jehovah God created the great small-brained plant eating, plant stomping Dinosaurs to stomp and grind the vegetation.....after they were done they were no longer needed and neither would they coexist well with man. Terminate. Any remaining dinos drowned in the great flood.
Edit: Person above wonedered about the creative era....(my term) The reason creationism is absurd is creationists contend that the Bible says everything was created in 6 literal 24 hour days only about 6,000 years ago.....We all know the evidence is overwhelmingly against that.....Just because the Bible says "day" it does not mean 24 hour day, (see Gen 2:4)....They were 6 creative divisions or eras or time periods which could have been hundreds of thousands of years long........If one reads the Bible with this understanding, the overwhelming evidence supports it. The Bible is not a book of Science but if it is true it should be scientific, and it is!

Hmm, my question is "Did they all go extinct?"
I believe the world use to be so perfect, that it was able to support lizards hundreds of years old. If you know much about lizards, it's that they generally don't stop growing until they're killed. Imagine an iguana, make it bigger, then make it bigger...
But alas, the world is no longer perfect. The oxygen content and air pressure is not enough to sustain life so well. And now we also have solar radiation to think about (thanks to those giant holes we made). I believe most of the changes were because of the Great Flood told in the Bible (and even some other culture's stories), and you may know the reason behind that.
And when did they go extinct? Millions of years ago? Try a smaller number. We have historical evidence (like coins, historical accounts, ancient drawings) that say people interacted with "Dragons". The word "Dinosaur" was very recent compared to written history.
We even have accounts today of featherless birds, aggressive longnecked lizards, and aquatic dinosaurs. You can ignore them if you'd like, but they're still there.

Since we are on the topic...where do the dinosaurs fall into the whole God created the world in 7 days thing? I never asked that in bible school...I knew I should have stayed awake during church!!!
EDIT: So people and dinosaurs existed at the same time? Um...why aren't they finding human remains with dinosaur remains? They didn't eat us then apparently, why would they eat us now? Why aren't they mentioned in the Bible?? If what you say is true about the "creative era" (below), where is this written down? Is this just a theory? Is there a spot in the Bible I missed? I'm just curious...not trying to brew up too much trouble here.

birds were made on day 5
dinos and man on day 6
birds did not descend from dinosaurs, the biird lung is too drastically different ... air in a bird lung flows 1 way...air in a lizard two ways... they are too drastically different
actually there are two kinds of dinosaurs
1_ bird hipped
2_lizard hipped
the T rex are lixard hipped so the theory tweety came form T rexx is for the birds
as far as dinos... my daughter would tellyou people wiped them out
man sinned
this brought death into the world including naimal death
people sinned
this brought the flood
the environment changed after the fllod and also in the ice age that followedso much so dinosaurs would tend to die out and become the stuff of dragan ledgends as the last of the dinos tended toget killed off

Who told you that God was responsible for Dinosaurs to go extinct? Can you support your statement with valid reasoning (i'm not asking for solid proof but sound reasoning).
If you believe in a GOD (who is out there somewhere), who is responsible for Dinosaurs extinction, then such God is worthless and confused.

Well If God didn't extinct the dinosaurs, it would be quite hard for a guy like you to ask such a question... being that they would probably would have eaten us!
... Don't be silly, everything happens for a reason, and his ways aren't know to man!

God never made dinosaurs go extinct because there were never any dinosaurs in the first place to begin with.

They served their purpose... They also might not have mixed well with such a large human population, and since we're why he created the world, there would be no point in having them here. Also, you should ask why God has made anything extinct. I think it would be the same answer.. They've served their purpose.

God caused this? How about looking at man. Why does any creature become extinct?

He didn't. The forces of nature did. He designed such forces, of course, and set them into motion, but the extinction of species is a natural event, not a supernatural one.
