Yes. I met an old wino a few days ago at the supermarket who was not homeless, just real poor. Turns out, the guy is a disabled veteran. In Vietnam he lost his leg in Da'nang. He told me war stories, and he told me to never take anything in this life too seriously, or you'll die shortchanged. Cool guy. His name was Sammy.

I met a Shaman who told me he could influence the weather and 10 minutes later said he was fearful of hurricanes coming to our area again, post Katrina.
I met a former mental therapist who became a massage therapist after his wife died from cancer. He said he wanted to do something that REALLY helped people. That a massage was the only thing that helped his wife as she was dying.
I met a woman who is a Krishna and offers herbal remedies that work.
I met a Thai young man who owns a restaurant and loves to eat hot peppers as a competition. He is a good cook and wants me to come watch him cook. His mother is there cooking too. There is a Buddhist alter in the corner of the restaurant and they burn incense there. There is a ghost in the restaurant that threw a spoon at me. They are great.
I think everyone is interesting! I admit it. Life is an adventure.

You know I meet interesting people everyday in the most unlikeliest of places, some on YA- people that I love because they make me smile or laugh or think, people at the hospital because in their worst moments they are kind and funny, I also volunteer at a men’s homeless shelter and those guys who are at the lowest low still want to take a minute to talk and smile. Everybody has a story and if you just take a minute to listen you might find it fascinating!

I met this guy today who managed to convince me that I was wrong to be an agnostic and atheism was the way forward. Of course I never claimed to be an agnostic or a theist or atheist.
Everything was hunky dory and he had me really believing that he knew what he was talking about, until ...... he said 'So you believe me? Thank God for the brains he's given you". I can't forget the look on his face when I lmao and walked away.

I can't say I've met anyone interesting lately, but I have met a few new people here and there. They seem to me much like many of the others in my life; nothing against them (believe me I have a very positive outlook on humanity), but I feel like I don't fit in quite right around most people. I have many friends but I find myself as someone different to each of them; I am always myself, but everyone sees me differently. The last interesting person that I met was about two years ago. I was in myrtle beach at barefoot landing. There was a man there who did the most amazing paintings. He explained to me that they were of different planets and solar systems that he had "seen". His explainations of the paintings were as amazing as the paintings were beautiful. But what really stuck with me was his overall "person". He was a hispanic man in his 50s who spoke slightly broken english (in fact he spoke better than most of my co-workers). He was calm, clear eyed to the point that you felt like he was looking inside you, genuine in his words and deliberate in his actions. He felt to me like he was a teacher to traveling souls, and strangers - someone that would take you in if you asked him.

I find leather lady very funny. Seems like that little tough girl at recess who kinda likes to bully but is actually nice. Sometimes when I read what she wrote I think this is really a teenage boy.

You of course, I have viewed your profile, and I find you to be interesting. You have answered alot of my questions concerning spirits that my daughter and I sense around us, and I recently learned you are an athesist who trusts entirely until given reason not to. You seem genuine and caring, yes spooky you intrigue me. It's good to know that there is someone who understands that their are things that cant be explained, but that despite what definition we give we can still love, and respect each other.
THank you, and I wish you well

I've encountered some very interesting people on R&S. The athiests have asked questions that have challenged me, some of the Christians have disgusted me (and I am a Christian myself), and then there are those who just ask questions that have me ROFL.
