well he might be ok with it now but might get mad later.. why give him an opportunity to flare up? instead surprise him with movie tickets on a day you know he can make it.. in the meanwhile.. spoil yerself tonight... take a long soak in a hot tub.. wash your hair... and the likes.. and curl up to a tape of your favourite movie of a good book... call your boyfriend and tell him you are crazy about him.. and that although you really wanted to go you preffered to go with him than anyone else.. and wait for him to do something special:)

heed the warning - my boyfriend was like that and never wanted me to go anywhere alone. I was attacked one day in the middle of the day and people who witnessed the incident told the police they thought that it was a domestic dispute and didnt want to get involved. It has been very hard getting over this incident. Don't think that something bad can't happen to you - I know from experience that it can. This guy must really care about you to even bring up the ex. That just means that he prefers that you dont go alone!

I agree that he's acting weird.
you definitely have some thinking to do . . .do you want to be in a relationship with a man who is THAT overprotective? doesn't sound healthy to me.
It's just a movie. You didn't say that you were going to travel around the world by hitch-hiking and begging.
It's definitely HIS issue, not yours.

sounds like he is truly concerned for you. why don't you ask him? I think you can park close to the theatre and walk in w/bunch of people and walk out w/a bunch. Please talk w/him about this more. you want to make certain that he is assured of your safety plan--if that is the concern. Also, he should not stifle you or coddle you--you did exist w/out him being there.....

Get as far as you can from this man, he is obviously crazy and you don't want these things to manifest
