It sounds like you're talking about water weight. The best way to keep that from fluctuating so much is to drink water regularly. When you body doesn't get enough water, it starts to store it...that's when you gain. When your body gets adequate amounts of water on a consistent basis, it flushes out what it doesn't need.
That's when you lose.
Water also helps your skin look nice.

There is probably something wrong with your "diet". Dieting like a feak implies that you aren't eating right normally.
Change your eating habits to a more nutritious eating style if you are thin, and your weight is still not reducing then it is likely that you have reached your natural weight and the desire to drop might be a sign of obsession.
If you are worrying about the 10lbs but are flubby or fat, then you are doing something wrong.
for a good start at a guide to proper eating habits and nutrition information try Eat Drink and be Healthy, the Harvard Medical School Guide to Healthy Eating.

Hi there, I maintain my weight by taking daily walks and watching what I eat. I eat a moderate amount of carbs, I hardly ever eat out anymore, I do a lot of my own cooking now, and I use less fat, less sugar, etc. in everything. I drink diet soda when I do drink soda, I watch my salt intake, and I try to work out 2-3 times a week at my gym. I can usually keep my weight within my target range of 135-140 pounds. (I lost 120 pounds about 2 years ago and I vow to never gain that weight back)

I guess you don't have any choice but to exersize/diet like a freak!
LOL
Just eat mostly healthy foods. It's WHAT you eat, not HOW MUCH you eat.
