I was 16 with a baby and trying to date. The fact that I was mother scared the guys away, except one. We'll be married 2 years next May. :-)

I feel that these women have to really prove they like the guy for real, and not just because he seems nice enough to help her with her kid. Not because he seems nice enough to date her even though she has a kid, because most guys wouldn't.
She would also have to show great maturity in this situation by not having him meet the kid until they were both clearly sure they really want to be with each other long term possibly marriage.
There's just too many shifty girls out there who only date you because your nice enough to take on a chick with a kid, but if she wasn't a parent, she wouldn't give you the time of day. And those who just want some guy around to help her, by telling him she really loves him.

I'm dating a woman now who has a daughter, and I'm perfectly fine with it. A lot of factors can play into that, though. If the woman has just recently divorced the father, I would think that the child would hate me for trying to replace the father, and so on. Her daughter is fifteen, though, so I've skipped the formative years where my being around could possibly do damage, anger her, etc.

I dont see a problem with it, I just hate it when you cant control your children, or they are not respectful.
