So my friend's brother-in-law got arrested a few days ago for getting busted with weed and the intent to sell it. Not only did his parents bond him out, but his mom took him to Minnesota to reward his bad behavior. My question is this: He is out on bond for this and he got busted about a month ago riding a 4-wheeler on the streets then ran from the cops. So, are you even allowed to leave the state if you are on bond awaiting for your trial/hearing?

You guys are only half right...it is when you are on probation that you cannot leave the state and need permission in order to do so...but before you go to court and are just on bond, you can leave the state you just need to appear for your court date. Chances are he's looking at misdemeanor charges anyway...it isn't like he killed anyone.

I'm pretty sure not leaving the State is always a condition of bond. If the DA finds out he will more than likely be facing other charges.

If you mom did not sue a bail bondsmen, it would be up to what the court told them in the bond,

Since the mom is out her money if he don't show up, normally they can if the person who bonded them don't care

You can, but it has to be approved by the court and you have to call when you leave, and when you return. If you don't and get caught that is a big no no.......and they will usually only let you go for things important....weddings, dealth in the family, that kind of thing.

I'm not sure, as long as you show up for your court hearing you're OK. It's not the same as being on parole or probation, they just posted a bond promising he would show up in court.

THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY. IF THE JUDGE DOES NOT STIPULATE IT YOU CAN DO WHAT EVER YOU WANT AS LONG AS YOU SHOW UP TO ALL YOUR COURT DATES. THEY CAN NOT STOP YOU FROM DOING ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT GUILTY OF A CRIME UNTIL CONVICTION. THEN THEY CAN IMPOSE MOVEMENT RESTRICTIONS ON YOU.

No he can't. He will then have a warrant for his arrest, as he is trying to flea the country!
