OHOHOH!! Pick me!! I asked this same question to a Mormon, she asked her bishop and HE said
"Bethlehem is in the same region as Jerusalem. It would be like saying a person is from Salt Lake City, even though they live in West Valley City"
West Valley is a suburb of SLC - the border is the middle of a street.
Still don't make sense - but that's what they said.

Of course we know he was born in Bethlahem, we believe in the Bible too.The Dead Sea Scrolls and other recently discovered ancient documents from Israel confirm that the phrase "land of Jerusalem" was an authentic term used to describe the area around Jerusalem--an area that includes nearby Bethlehem.

Luke invented the Bethlehem birth, so why can't Joseph Smith invent a Jerusalem birth?

The Book of Mormon is not exactly fireproof... there are quite a few errors in that book, as well as the Mormon religion as a whole. Joseph Smith was not the most reputable man that could start a religion.

The Book of Mormon and the Bible are not the same thing. So don't expect to see the same thing in both.

Actually, it says "at Jerusalem". Bethlehem was near Jerusalem, so this is an appropriate interpretation of this phrase.

the prophet Micah clrearly said Bethlahem Ephratah...

I would have to conclude Joseph Smith was biblically illiterate... sadly he used an occultic divining rod to look for brurried treasure which is a proactice forbidden by the law of Moses... no surprize he might meet up with an spirit posing as an angel with a false gospel

This is what you call a "false prophecy". Please consult Deuteronomy chapters 13 and 18 for instructions in this area.
The place where Jesus was born is a big deal because it is a false prophecy and it invalidates the book that it is in.

The Bible is correct. The Book of Mormon is not. That is that.

You get no answers from Mormans, but yet, you keep asking questions. Is this just to show us that you know stuff? Or are you just bored?
