Someone just posted this comment on a question:

is that something jesus would say to athiests?
"as for the athiests in the peanut gallery...shut up, no one wants to hear it."
i dont recall him ever acting like that. arent you supposed to be christ-like?

I'm not exactly sure what Jesus would say to Atheists other than a speculation that He would probably walk on water or turn water into whine to prove He is God.

Now as for the idea that Jesus never said anything against anyone take a look at what He said to the pharisees.

"You snakes! You brood of vipers!" (Mathew 23:33)

Jesus definitely used some harsh words when He felt it was necessary to break the hard hearts of the prideful.

I'm sure Jesus would explain to them that they still have a chance to change their ways and repent (but that they don't have forever).

I'm sure He would also point things out which he thought wasn't right, and he can get angry, too. Remember when He found the temple being used as a Market? Yeah, He got really angry then.

Can Christians be angry? Yes. Should we still forgive, let some things go and move on? Yes, I believe so.

First of all, according to the Bible, Jesus never claimed to be God (the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob). He claimed to be God's Messiah, and His only begotten son. Secondly, he never turned water into whine, he turned it into wine. Whine is what the Jewish leaders did when Jesus called them vipers. You might enjoy actually reading the Bible.

I did not answer her question because of the comment she made at the end. That certainly should not have been said. I do understand her anger...Christianity teaches tolerance....Yes, Jesus did use some harsh words. Remember, like us, he was in the flesh. Being so did not free him from sin. He had to try just as hard as we do.

I agree with you. I chose not to respond to that question even thought I've got a great story to tell.

I felt that comment was unnecessary and rude. The bible says "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. At least, Catholic bibles do. The Protestants still call it "the golden rule" but they took it out of their bibles. Go figure.

Book of Tobit. Interesting read.

Jesus would not be harsh to an atheist. He was harsh to the Pharisees because he was a Rabbi and had a right to criticize them.

I don't know what Jesus would say to atheist. Actually He wold not have to say anything at all, if it was the time of their spiritual eye opening.

He is after all Lord and God.

Jesus always spoke the truth whether it hurts,
or not.
Like, in this life people die, are cheated, whether we are interested in loving ourselves or not.
if u stay here and you dont know yet that life hurts, sorry. try Mars.
this life is based on rules. same way, the spiritual exists, it doesn't need your acceptance.
it also has rules. whether you understand it or not.
So, all man: wisen up.
Read the Bible with a clear mind

He would probably say, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." If you want to know the reason they are that way, read Romans 1 18-32.

He'd say "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."

I agree!! Those who don't believe in Christ need our prayers, not our hate.
