You need to contact your local town or county administration office to get a business liscense and the local department of social services (DSS, DCFS, each state calls it something different.) to get the requirements to be licensed as a childcare provider. In most states, if you only babysit the kids in their homes you may not have to be licensed. You would just be considered a nanny. However if you want to consider yourself a business, then you have to be licensed.
