change is a fearsome thing. Suggest if you are really paralyzed then you might benefit from seeing a therapist, to help you understand yourself and your motives. Help you to see your strengths and understand how to overcome your failings.

I'm the same age and want to do the same stuff you want to, such as move & go back to school. Its fear of change, what if it doesn't work out? I think the whole mid-life crisis at like 50 years old is such a cliche, we go through lots of 'mid-life' crisis's. The only thing you can do is get on with it. I have to save $ before I can do anything, unfortunately, and I'm a single mother of 2.
I up and quit an 80k a year job that I had to travel an hour and a half on the main highway to NYC every day. I only make minimum wage now but I'm happier and I love my job and I'm actually making a difference in the company. Fear kept me from doing lots of things, even from ending an abusive relationship, I did finally end it and met an awesome, awesome man.
When you're ready, you'll take the proper steps.
Hang in there & good luck!

Honey,I know the feeling...I am 23...and have a business and accounting degree...I also have started having bad anxiety quite often for the past 5 year....I have decided to start real estate school (i just cant find a job) and it scares the crap outta me...I have been having worse attacks.I too have fear...of everything.....
I am working a min wage job...and was offered a 13.00 an hour job and didnt take it...you know why...my fears and anxiety stopped me from doing so....I am comfortable where I am at..and was afraid of changing...
Good luck in whatever you decided to do sweety, but just know your not the only one out there with the same issue....it is hard.....you get into a "comfort" zone and you tend to stay there....or this is my feelings on it anyhow....I will check back to see what everyone else has answered to this...but I am sure everyone will just be like...OH JUST UP AND DO IT...but...it is easier said than done....
Good luck sweety.

Sometimes people feel that it is too late to do something. If you feel you should go back to school, it is probably the right decision if you are able to. It's better to get the school done and over with so you can enjoy a better life then have regrets later on wishing that you went back to school. People are affraid of big chances. Finishing school isn't something that can be done all at once its a process where you don't necessarily see rewards right away, but you will be significantly rewarded once you finish.
In order to get out, you will require motivation. Be proud of yourself for going back to school. Let others know you are going back to school and let them be proud of you too. Take pride knowing that you are doing what's best for yourself.

You are afraid to fail. Afraid that you aren't doing the right thing. Well...better to have tried and lost than to be miserable for the rest of your life and full of regret that you never took a chance.
Besides....you won't lose if you really want it.

Fear is powerful. Maybe a change of job will help.
