That a tree fell on but, it didn't damage the statue at all but, there were two branches that broke off and formed the shaped of the cross over one shoulder? It was a really neat story. It just happened with this latest snow storm back East.

To Palledin; No I don't think so. I didn't realize that the fingers were chopped off of one hand though but, maybe this just means things have gotten so bad that the time for blessings is over and now is the time to bear the cross.

Didn't see it, but I read it online. I noted that the fingers on the statue's right hand were knocked off by the falling branches. What do you think God was trying to tell the faithful by that? Should all Christians chop off the fingers of their red right hands?

Even concrete Jesus has to bear a cross.

I am Christian...and do not see that the story proves anything other than the statue was stronger than the tree.

I do not think Jesus needed that situation to prove His existence.

I don't follow statues that cry, toast that looks like the virgin mary, statues that bleed, biscuts that look like Mother Teresa,it's all a hoax.

In the bible, we're warned not to bow down to statues. Remember Shadrach, meshach and abednego? No idolatry for me, thanks.
