It's still a little soon for them to get on well in the same home together. Both are going thru an adjustment period and trying to get used to each other. Your cat isn't thrilled about a new baby in the house I'm sure and your dog may not have been around cats and is a little over excited about seeing one.

They will eventually get along or at least tolerate each other, just try to monitor to make sure you dog doesn't get badly injured by the cat. If it's mild, I wouldn't stop it because it's how your dog will learn not to pick on your kitty.

My cat does great with the Doxie and my American Eskimo hates the cat, but would never hurt her. Just doesn't want her within close proximity of her space.

It depends on the cat and the dog. Growing up I had a cat who was very loving and sweet but when we got our dog, a cocker spaniel, he refused to come upstairs out of the basement. But we were adopted by a stray cat who gets along well with the dog. Cockers are very curious and hyper especially puppies! But take your time and see what happens. Good luck

The cat will get used to the dog. It takes a while for cats to adjust to change. She may never like the dog, but she'll learn to tolerate it, it just may take some time.

Your dog is just curious about your cat, let them get use to each other and everything will be just fine.
