Am I the only person here that doesn't regularly use a microwave? I haven't used one in 10+ years. It is a completely unnatural cooking technique where food is heated from the inside out not the outside in. Can we start a campaign to teach people how bad microwaves are?

I think you should all check this out. Seriously, it's really not hard at all not to use a microwave. You should try cooking on the stove it's not that difficult.

I never use a microwave for cooking. Never ever ever.
Now for reheating. There's a different story. =)

I can handle living without a microwave in some cases. It would take a little more prep to defrost in longer time, or reheating my first cup of coffee... But I can look at it from a diffrent point of view.
When I was in the service, I did barracks guard several times. Barracks rooms are dinky closet sized rooms with a couple pieces of fruniture, a twin sized bed and a fridge/freezer with a microwave on top. The only stove anywhere near these rooms were way at the end of the north hallway, and one on each level. Now if the milt didn't pay for those microwaves as a requirement in their rooms, those kitchens would become crowded due to the 20+ personnel trying to use it, and more run down and hazardous to the building.
As to say, I know several people that don't have or don't use theiir microwaves. But don't ban them completely. I know a couple that would defend that freedom as they would the country's.

i love the microwave, it is so quick and easy. I need one its the only way i could survive. I don't have time every night to stand and make a meal. I can make it in advance and microwave a portion every night for my dinner.

Getting rid of the microwave will be almost as hard as trying to get rid of gas in cars. Some people will care, but we rely so much on it most people won't bother.
