There's no excuse for not getting her the proper health care, regardless of the cost or what you can afford. I was fresh out of high school & still living w/my parents when I decided to get a puppy, I got a rottie from a rescue. She turned out to have Parvo, I took her to the vet and she needed immediate attention and needed to be put in the ICU. This was a cost of nearly $1200, which I didn't have ( I was working part time w/low wages). I wanted nothing more than to help my puppy (who I only had for 3 days before this)...so the vet offered me the option of Care Credit. It's a loan/credit card that seems very easy to qualify for, bc I got it w/o having any previous credit. Anyhoo, it was a $1500 limit and I got to give my pup the proper care, even tho she passed away...I felt good knowing I did everything I could. Don't end up letting her get too bad, you'll regret not taking her back to the vet. You can apply online for the care credit I think, good luck!

The poster who said the vet was greedy has obiously never run a business with having to pay staff, pay a mortgage and insurance, pay for supplies.... the same tests done on humans are 5-8 times a s expensive. Labs charge aset fee and there is no way around it - one rate for animals and one for humans. More extensive lab tests (beyond basic stool and bllod counts) have to be sent out - and that outside lab chrges an amount.
I adore Bostons - grew up with them.
That is a very very subnormal temp. She is one very sick dog. Thi is not going to get better with home remedies. Get off the computer and contact the groups suggested below
You are simply going to have to find some money.
(1) Do a cash advance on a credit card
(2) Find a pawn shop and sell or pawn something
(3) Go to a pay day advance loan company and get the money - you will pay a lot of interest and may have to roll it over in a couple weeks but if you have to you have to.
(4) Raise as much money as you can - borrow from friends and family 10 here, 2 there.....
(5) If you can't raise quite all of it, go back and ask if you can put down most of it and work out a payment plan.
If he won't go along with you, call the local humane society and ask for the name of a vet who accepts payment plans.
This happens because no one wants to admit that their pet may some day need major medical care.
Instead of renting a movie, put the money in a jar for emergency expenses. Instead of McD's, make dinner and put the saving in a jar for emergecies.

I'm sorry to hear about your poor Boston Terrier! :(
I, too, have a Boston Terrier. She did have a few weeks where she had blood in her stools. The vet suggested fruit on the bottom Yogurt... but not to give her the fruits, just the top part that wasn't mixed. It did eventually go away. My Boston also has these sudden purple marks on her chest... they have been there awhile and have not gone away. However, she doesn't lose her balance and her eye is not swollen. I would try the yogurt thing for a week and see if there is any improvement. Sorry I cant be of more help! Good luck though!

Sounds like your vet just wants to make a few bucks on the testing. I'd go in search of another vet and maybe try to find one who will let you put some money down and make payments if these tests are truly needed.

Now, the first thing to do is not panic. One thing though: don't get angry with your vet. He or she needs money to do tests that can determine exactly what's wrong.
Problems with balance, blood in her stools and odd tempurature could be a sign of a brain problem. Possibly (though not neccessarily) cancer. If her eye is swollen, that could also be a sign. I'm sorry if this upsets you, I'm just saying what it could be, not what it is. I'm not trying, by all means, of replacing your vet. With a case like this, you either pay for the tests (which could result in more money) or wait it out. Sorry, I wish her the best.

call your local spca or humane society and see if they can find you some low cost care or someone to assist you with your vet bills.
Also, call around and see if there is a vet that is willing to take payments after explaining whats going on with your puppy. You might actually find a vet out there that still has a HEART!
Good luck with your baby.,

Call the local ASPCA and see what you can do, sometimes they will work out a low cost plan with you that you can pay over time, so that they can look at your dog and treat her. Or you can call around to different vet hospitals to see if they have a payment plan.....Try to do as much as you can, if you have to borrow the money from someone.

Sounds like she is real weak from lost of blood. Is she still bleeding?
What were the pills he gave you to give her?
Keep her warm w/a heating pad, give her sugar water or honey & water. Is she still eating?
Can you find another vet that would work payments w/you?

Call your local ASPCA immediately, explain to them whats up and let them know that the vet wouldn't treat your pet because of money. They should either have to bring her there or recommend a vet that will not be so greety.

I would try another vet or call the shelter and have them recommend their choice of low cost vets.
Strange bruising and internal bleeding make me think of poison. Is it possible the dog got into rat poison?
