That depends. Are you wanting a car that you can buy for $300 or less or a car with operating expenses of $300 or less?
If you are wanting to buy a car in that price range you will be looking at vehicles requiring significant repairs or needing restoration. Ebay has lots of these kinds of cars. Older cars will be easier to service if you are a home mechanic.
Any small fuel efficient car (Corolla, Civic, Dodge Omni, Plymouth Horizon, etc) will have operating expenses of less than $300 per month, excluding car payments and insurance.
