Get a job! You know they cost money right? Cell phone bills are not cheap. And if you are too young for a job then you are too young for a cell.

Go slow... Ask for a cell phone that uses a prepaid card and tell her you will just use it for emergencies and quick phone calls only (one minute or less to let someone know where you are or that you are running late)... Tell her that she can be in charge of loading the minutes on it and she can load $10 at a time. This way she can monitor your use. Over time she may allow you to get one with a calling plan if she thinks that you can be responsible.

My daughter has a "prepaid" phone since she was 12 (will be 14 next month). It is a great way for a parent to feel secure about their child's growing need for independence as they get older. One quick phone call to her when I want to know where she is makes me feel better about letting her strike out on her own or with friends at the mall or around the neighborhood.

Hope that this helps!

depends how old you are. you can always get stranded somewhere or come home late and if you said if i had a cell phone maybe i could've called you. but that would show that you're immature. the best thing to do is tell her that you can work for it. show her that you will take more responsibilty and that you will do chores around the house to pay part of the cell phone bill. kids don't know how much it could cost and stuff, but if you show that you can be responsible and compromise with your mother than maybe she will think about it and get you one. and you never know, maybe she will get you one for christmas, so stop nagging her.

She said no. She's your mom and she probably has good reasons for saying no. If you want a cell phone, demonstrate your ability to be responsible about owning one. Also, be willing to pay your own cell phone bill. If you aren't old enough to have a part-time job to pay a cell phone bill, then you're not old enough to own a cell phone.

Depends how old you are. There are still some health issues with cell phones being used by growing children, maybe this is why she doesn't want you to have one? Either that or the bills.

Give her the pros of why you should have a cell phone.
*constant communication (she can always call you and know where your at
*peace of mind (in case of emergency)
Maybe work off your cell phone bill, do extra chores around the house. You have to show her you really want it and if you earn it , then its even better! Good luck!

There's a cell phone where your Mom can find out where you are on the internet. Tell her about that.
