I have been in Orlando now for about 2yrs and I haven't really made any friends. I was wondering, is it just me or is anyone else having this same problem? I don’t know where to go exactly. I have tried school (two colleges) and church. I’m a bit lost. I don’t really have too many "hobbies", I like to do a lot of things, plus I like to try most new things. I’m 26. So some things may not be for me i.e. shuffle board. lol I work in an office by my self, so no work friends. Meeting friends at a club or gym? Well I really dont want to come off like Im hitting on them. Well I hope someone has something, Im almost at my wits end. Im open minded and a nice person I just dont know where to meet some new, preferably girl, friends. (As not to upset my boyfriend, not that he would mind just trying to avoid problems.) I also hope to see some people from Orlando answer. Thanks guys! :)

You can come and hang out with me, if you like. I'm 33, married with 2 kids, I live in the Conway area of Orlando. I can also introduce you to some of my younger female friends who are in commited relationships if you're interested.

You can feel free to email me at mypurdy@yahoo.com

im sure it's hard to make friends in orlando..it's a high tourists spot. if i move to FL i'll be your friend. when i went there for vacation this past spring i loved it there. and i want to move there, but people are telling me not to because of humidity and other than disney world it's really boring. hope that's not true. try going to coffee shops and be a regular or if you can find a part time job where there are more people you can relate to. good luck~!

You really only need to socialise with as many of your near neighbours that you feel confident with, such as the next door's, the local hairdresser's , the supermarket check-out people, and basically anyone you regularly come into contact with on a daily basis. They may be itching to get to know you, and are probably as unsure of you as you are of them. If you don't have a hobby, FIND OR CREATE ONE!!

when I moved to Florida, I started taking continuing education classes thru the local community college - like learning to Kayak, learning a different language... I met lots of people with the same interests and we get together at least once a month.

Thanks guys? or thanks girls....

and you're right, guys and girls can't be friends without sexuality coming into play at some point. Yes they can be friends, but there will always be some degree of tension
